This will be our 7th year running for our
Oregon / Washington Area young men
Camp Helaman is a pre-missionary experience for your young men:
- RUN AS A MISSION with Assistants to the President, and Zone and District leaders
- EACH YOUNG MAN is assigned a companion, a district and a zone
- INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKERS are brought in through the week to strengthen testimonies
- JOINT physical and mental activities teach the boys interaction and companionship
- GREAT meals, evening campfires, service projects and personal times are provide
- SPIRITUAL STUDY and prayer are emphasized throughout the week – an ENOS EXPERIENCE
- BISHOPS and STAKE PRESIDENTS are invited on Thursday evening
- A TESTIMONY MEETING concludes the camp on Thursday evening.
We have seen many young men experience their first time away from home, overcoming many of the “home sickness” issues that often times send missionaries home from the MTC.
We have seen many boys “decide” to serve a mission even though they may or not have been sure or truly committed before.
Many boys receive their mission calls during the week – a truly exciting shared experience.
Our camp can accommodate 200 young men and their leaders comfortably. (2 adults per stake is desired) We have had over 200 in previous years. We are concentrating our efforts on promoting our camp for the Portland Oregon Area and other surrounding stakes. We invite you to participate with us as individuals, wards or stakes this coming June. We have boys coming from 8 stakes so far and hope to have room for youth from previously non-participating stakes. We invite your young men to come and enjoy this unique EXPERIENCE.
